Finland’s biggest Half Marathon was supposed to take place in Helsinki already in May, but it was postponed to October due to the coronavirus pandemic. The new date made it possible for the Half Marathon and other Helsinki City Running Day events to return to the Helsinki Olympic Stadium earlier than planned. The renovation of the Olympic Stadium will be finished just before the new date of Helsinki City Half Marathon.
The Half Marathon route will remain mainly the same in 2020, except for some small changes. The biggest change is that this year the route will be run clockwise. The Half Marathon route shows the best parts of Helsinki including the beautiful sea views, the city center and some Finnish forest as well. The finish line is located at the iconic, freshly renewed Helsinki Olympic Stadium. If you have ever dreamed of running a Half Marathon in Helsinki, now is the perfect time to do it!
