The preparations for Helsinki City Running Day are going in full speed. The event will be organized with special arrangements, keeping the safety of our runners as a top priority. This means for example more start corrals than usual. Check the HCRD 2020 event schedule in below.
The schedule for Helsinki City Running Day 2020
Thursday October 1st, 2020
5pm-8pm (17-20) Minimarathon competition office is open at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium. Also people in the risk group (Helsinki City Running Day other events) can pick up their running bibs and shirts. Please note! The Expo and the sport store is not open on Thursday.
Friday October 2nd, 2020
8am-8pm (8-20) Garmin Helsinki City Marathon, Helsinki City Run, Helsinki City Marathon Relay, ECCO Helsinki City 5, Helsinki City Double and Minimarathon competition office and Running Expo area is open at Helsinki Olympic Stadium. Entrance is located at the western side (50 meters from the Olympic tower). Please note that the pick up may take more time than usually as the number of people inside the Olympic Stadium may be limited.
The running bib and t-shirts has to be picked up during the opening times of the competition office, the bibs must be picked up at least 1,5 hours before individual starting times. In addition, the t-shirt is available only before the event. Please note that the rush hours on Friday are 3.30 pm – 6.30 pm. We recommend to pick up the running bib and t shirt outside the rush hours if possible.
Please note that you need to know your bib number before picking it up. Another person may pick up the bib and the t-shirt on behalf of the runner. In that case, please give your running number information to the person picking up your race package.
Saturday October 3rd, 2020
8:00 am Minimarathon Competition office opens at Eläintarha Athletics field, Note the different location than on Friday!
8:00 am Garmin Helsinki City Marathon, Helsinki City Run, Marathon relay, ECCO Helsinki City 5, Helsinki City Double Competition Office and Expo area opens at Helsinki Olympic Stadium. Please note that the rush hours on Saturday Saturday are 9 am – 1 pm. We recommend to pick up the running bib and t shirt outside the rush hours if possible.
9.00 am Bag drop area and storage for valuables opens at Helsinki Olympic Stadium (north Olympic Stadium). It is open on Saturday from 9am until 8:45 pm and you may leave the goods only in the official gear bag at your own risk
9:00 am Helsinki Olympic Stadium grandstand seating is open to spectators
9:30 am Minimarathon number pick up closes at Eläintarha Sports field
9:30 am Minimarathon’s start (Eläintarha Sports field)
10.00 am Helsinki City Run half marathon running bib pick up closes
10.45 am Helsinki City Run’s the first starting groups and Helsinki City Double runners are ready in the starting area
11.00 am-11.28 am Helsinki City Run’s starts (5 start corrals, each start has 3 waves)
12:30 pm Possibility to deliver own drinks for Garmin Helsinki City Marathon’s, Double or relay ends
1:30 pm (13:30) Garmin Helsinki City Marathon’s and Relay’s running bib pick up closes
2 pm (14:00) ECCO Helsinki City 5 running bib pick up closes
2:15pm (14:15) Garmin Helsinki City Marathon’s, Helsinki City Double’s and Relay’s (1st leg’s) runners ready at starting area
2:30 pm (14:30) Garmin Helsinki City Marathon, Helsinki City Double and Marathon Relay starts at Mäntymäentie, next to Paavo Nurmi statue. (3 starting waves)
2:45 pm (14:45) ECCO Helsinki City 5 runners ready in Pohjoinen Stadionintie (on the north side of Olympic Stadium)
3 pm (15:00) ECCO Helsinki City 5 starts in Pohjoinen Stadionintie (on the north side of Olympic Stadium)
3pm (15:00) The HCRD Expo and the Intersport running shop closes.
8:30pm (20:30) The Olympic Stadium Finish area closes
8:45 pm (20:45) Bag drop area and storage for valuables closes
9:00 pm (21.00) Competition office closes
We recommended to use public transport as we don’t have any reserved parking areas for the runners. During the event 2.-3.10.2020 the competition office is located at Helsinki Olympic Stadium. The address: Paavo Nurmen tie 1, Helsinki. Entrance is located at the westerns side (50 meters from the Olympic Stadium tower).
